Its editor, lead founder, and editor-in-chief, Ralph Benko, was one Lewis E. Lehrman’s two protégés. Lehrman himself a protégé of the Honorable Jacques Rueff, the classical gold standard’s leading advocate in the 20th century as was Lehrman after Rueff.
Editor Benko served as one of the 23 official witnesses before the Reagan Gold Commission, one of only two pro-gold witnesses. A summary of his testimony, “Constitutional Gold, may be found at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis’s website.
He went on to serve as the editor and blogger of the Lehrman Institute’s thegoldstandardnow.org. This site, with the permission of Lewis E. Lehrman, reproduces Benko’s 400+ professional blogs from that site.
In addition, he published extensively about the gold standard for Forbes.com, and other columns on that subject by him have appeared at Roll Call, The Hill, and many other publications.
